I have been fortunate enough to experience many different things in my life that I am convinced are a direct result of opening my heart and mind to spiritual blessings. While I am unable to share every personal experience I have had, I can say that I feel incredibly blessed and because of these experiences, I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that there is a higher power at work and there is such thing as events divinely orchestrated and divine intervention in general.
I mention this because I believe that a significantly beneficial step to healing from PTSD can be allowing these blessings to flow in by opening oneself up to receiving them. So much of the healing process involves self-healing through reflection and acceptance, and we have to spend time alone to reconnect with our thoughts in order to do so.
Because we have already made a commitment to ourselves to find the time to practice quietly meditating and reflecting on where we’re at in the present moment by employing mindful thinking, it is only natural to take this one step further and ask what we still need to feel peace.
When we’re alone with our thoughts and considering where we’re at, we will feel the pain points that still plague us as well. We will recognize their existence in these moments because we are allowing our bodies to talk to us. All too often we ignore this discomfort because we are too busy attending to everything else in our day-to-day.
When discomfort inevitably arises, wouldn’t it be nice to do something tangible about it? Instead of accepting it as a part of us, we can heal it altogether by asking for help.
We cannot heal everything on our own. Sometimes we need to ask for help and doing so is part of the process of receiving the blessings we need. It is part of becoming stronger, because all to often it is counterintuitive. No one likes to admit they need the aid of others and most people feel uncomfortable asking. But those who have become comfortable understand that it is a necessary part of life and a sign that they’ve moved to a higher vibration.
The next time you are alone with your thoughts, meditating on where you’re now at, and you begin to access certain parts of yourself that need your immediate attention, ask the universe or your higher power for help. Put your intentions out there and see what happens. I can guarantee you someone’s listening, and if your intentions are pure and for your own betterment, they will be answered.
Break the silence, break the cycle.
